High performance Filters
For Pure Compressed Air and Gases
Compressed Air Filtration : -
Purification Why ?
Compressed Air is one of the essential service in any industry . Unfortunately compressed air / gas considerable amount of communication which can have drastic effects on the equipment using it. In addition to this, there are contaminants such as hydrocarbon vapours ( from unburnt fuels and industrial processes ) and water vapour . All of these are drawn into the compressor and concentration increase by the compression process. Inside the compressor , wear particles and lubricating oil are added to the air.
It is never an advantage to have oil from a compressor in the distribution system as this oil is inevitably degraded and oxidized after the heat of compression. If synthetic oils are being used these can cause chemical attack on down stream components such as seals and polymeric parts. Carbonisation of the lubricating oil in the compressor is not uncommon due to the temperature of compression and the presence of hot spots , results in deposits of carbon which are again carried over. It is worth taking note at this point that even using an ‘’ Oil free ‘’ compressor does not necessarily generate ‘’ Oil free ‘’ air as quite large amounts of hydrocarbons can be drawn in from the atmosphere . Oil aerosol is present in a very fine sub micron form and has the ability to travel many kilometers down pipe work systems without settling due to gravity and / or other effects. High efficiency oil removal filters are used to remove the oil aerosol from the air / gas stream. oil removal efficiency is achieved by the use of filter systems using borosilicate microfibre media. This media being constructed into filter elements of suitable design for specific applications.
Moisture Separators are used ( Centrifugal Type ) to remove bulk quantity oil / water from compressed air system

Operation Charcteristics MS – Moisture separator. For the removal of 99% bulk oil / water from the compressed air system.
Filter Type SB: Pre-Filtration Sintered bronze filter element for the removal of pipe scales, bulk liquid, solid particles, dust down to down 5 micron. Ideal as pre filter before line filter (Filter element regenerable) available in 25, 10, 5 microns.
Filter Type PF: High Efficiency Fine Filter For the removal of particles down to 1 micron including coalesced liquid water and oil, dust, providing a maximum remaining oil aerosol content of 0.5mg/m3 at 21°C
Filter Type UF: High Efficiency Oil Removal Filtration For the removal of particles down to 0.01 micron including water and oil aerosols, dust, proving a maximum remaining oil aerosol content of 0.01mg/m3 (0.01 ppm) at 21°C efficiency - 99.9999% (install in series with filter type PF). (Borosilicate glass micro fibres - media which actively repel oil and water to reduce pressure drop and running cost to an absolute minimum)
Filter Type AC: Activated Carbon Filtration. For the removal of vapour and hydrocarbon odours giving a maximum remaining oil content of <0.003mg/m3 (<0.003 ppm) (w) (excluding methane) at 21°C (install in series with filter type PF+UF).
Note: It is essential to change the filter elements every year or earlier if the clogging indicator (D.P Gauge) changes to red.
